Program Description
Discover the history of Płaszów, a site that commemorates the Jewish victims of Nazi persecution in Kraków. During the visit, you will learn about the former camp and the events that took place here during the Second World War.
Płaszów was established in 1942 as a Nazi forced-labour camp for Jews and became a concentration camp in 1944. The camp was dismantled later that year, and in 1945, the remaining prisoners were evacuated westwards.
During the tour, you will learn about the history of the site and the fate of its Jewish victims. Your guide will explain the events connected with the camp and help you understand its significance as a memorial site.
Płaszów is located just a few kilometres from Kraków’s Main Market Square. Today, the former camp site commemorates the victims of Nazi persecution and serves as a place of remembrance of the tragic events of the Second World War.
Important information
- The tour includes a short ride on public transport. A ticket is required and is not included in the tour price.
- This is a group tour with other participants and a fixed departure time. Admission to museums and other facilities is not included.
- Meeting point: Meet your guide holding an “excursions.city” sign in front of the “Apteka Pod Orłem” Museum at 18 Ghetto Heroes Square, Kraków. Show your voucher to the guide and take the tram with them to the tour location.
