Trekking to the Tajogaite volcano

Pick-up from hotels. The tour begins with a visit to Plaza de Tajuya, a location that became a key observation point during the eruption of the Cumbre Vieja volcano. From here, you can see the landscape, which has changed significantly after 84 days of intense volcanic activity. Next, we will drive to the observation point closest to the solidified lava, and then to the port of Tazacorte, which offers a view of the newly formed lava flows along the coast. The rest of the tour continues to Llano del Jable and the Tajogaite volcano area – the youngest volcano on La Palma, formed during the last eruption in 2021. This route, designed specifically for exploring the area, allows participants to see the effects of the eruption and the changes that have taken place in the island’s landscape. During the approximately 2.5-hour hike, you can also see the measuring devices that continue to monitor volcanic activity and observe how the Canary Island pine is gradually regaining ground after the eruption. At the end of the tour, you can admire the changes in the Aridane Valley and see how nature is adapting to the new reality. Return to hotels.
